Hi, I’m Elsie and I’m alive to tell my story because of In Defense of Animals. There are regions in the US where puppies are killed when they come into the shelters because of the risk of them getting parvo and because there’s no room to hold them until they are old enough for vaccinations and adoption. That’s where rescuers come in. No, they can’t save all of us, but they sure try.

My babies and I were in a shelter that one of In Defense of Animals' team members had business with. We were noticed and we were saved. Our pictures were taken and posted immediately on Facebook. A family who loves animals and often helps animals in need responded to the post. The next day my babies and I were safely in our foster home, and by that night we’d been chosen for adoption by the family and their own extended family. Life doesn’t always work that way, but I’m so thankful that it did.

Please don’t ever stop helping In Defense of Animals help families like mine. If not for IDA, I might have been adopted, but my babies would not have seen another week of life. My heart would have broken. Thank you!
