Help Sweet Aging Dogs in South Korea Find Homes This Adopt-a-Senior-Pet Month
We recently wrote about some special dogs in South Korea who’ve been waiting a really long time for their forever homes. While some of them have been adopted, we still have a few waiting, so we hope that this Adopt-a-Senior Pet Month, you’ll consider adopting or sharing their stories to get them homes.
Most of these dogs were rescued off the back of a truck headed to slaughter in 2019, thanks to the swift actions of our partner Jindo Love Rescue. Since we last shared about them, we’re thrilled that Harry, Lance, and Red have all found their perfect homes, but Raina, Angel, Benny, Troy, and Sam are still waiting, and so is Eunbi, another adorable little dog we rescued that year who keeps getting overlooked.
We’re grateful for our foster center and for the staff at the boarding facility we use for providing such excellent care for these dogs, especially considering the trauma they went through. However, it’s not the same as having homes of their own, and their sweet faces are getting frostier by the day.
We hope to find homes with people who are experienced with training and spitz breeds, who also have dogs around the same age and energy levels who can help them adjust to their new lives, and who also have the patience to guide them through the process, especially considering how long they’ve all waited.
Raina
Raina is an absolute sweetheart with a very calm personality, and we can’t believe she hasn’t found a home yet. We know she would love to be somewhere peaceful and quiet with an experienced adopter, hopefully with another canine sibling, where she can feel safe and relaxed. She’s spent a lot of time moving between our training facility and foster center, because it can be overwhelming for her with so many dogs.
Angel
Angel couldn’t have a more fitting name, because she really is one. She’s still a little nervous in new situations, but she’s come so far in overcoming her past trauma and is great with other dogs and people. We hope to find an experienced adopter for her with another dog, where she can live out her days being adored.
Benny

Benny is another who has made incredible progress after coming in terribly, and understandably, fearful when he was first rescued. He’s comfortable with physical contact now, but can still get a little anxious. He’s also a rare Donggyeongi dog, who has a naturally bobbed tail, and will make a one-of-a-kind companion for someone who will be patient and kind to him.
Sam & Troy

Sam and Troy are shy brothers who we would love to see adopted together. Both are super sweet, but will need an experienced adopter who can be patient with them as they experience new things and adapt to new lives. We hope that having each other will help give them the confidence to explore and settle in.
Eunbi
Eunbi has also been in our care since 2019, when she, her sister, and her days-old babies were tied up and abandoned in front of our foster center. Sadly, her puppies who survived and her sister have since been adopted, while she continues to patiently wait for a forever home of her own. She’s loving, affectionate, calm, is great with dogs and people, and she loves children. She’s a snuggler who can’t wait to be loved back, and we know the perfect home is out there for her.
How to Adopt
If you’re interested in adopting one of these deserving dogs, you can learn more about adopting and send Jindo Love Rescue a message on Facebook to start the application process.
Even if you can’t adopt, you can still help by sharing their stories and supporting our ongoing rescue efforts in South Korea by making a donation and spreading the word about our ongoing need for flight volunteers to courier dogs to new homes.
All of these dogs were rescued from the meat trade. All animals want to live, and you can save them and make a big impact by downloading our Vegan Starter Guide.
