Helping Cats At School

We love this college campus’s approach to helping community cats on the school’s grounds.

Staff and faculty at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) volunteer their time to care for an established community cat colony on campus. They call themselves the Roadrunner Cat Coalition (RRCC) and they work to ensure the cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, fed, and protected.

They report the colony has significantly declined since 2006 when they started the project to about 20 remaining colony members today.

Trap-neuter-return works, most especially when there is community involvement. Purrs to you, Roadrunner Cat Coalition and the University of Texas at San Antonio for providing a safe place for cats on campus.
