My name is Gnala...

My name is Gnala. Just before Christmas of last year, I was fortunate enough to come into IDA-Africa’s care. Just a baby, I was surrendered to Sanaga-Yong Chimpanzee Rescue Center staff in a town a few hours from the Center. An affluent resident had purchased me from a poacher who had killed my mother and three other chimpanzees to supply the illegal bushmeat trade. Having realized he was committing a crime, the man relinquished me to the loving care of the Sanaga-Yong Rescue Center staff. By providing a permanent home for rescued chimpanzees, as well as information and technical assistance to authorities, IDA-Africa enables and supports enforcement of laws against trafficking. Please help IDA-Africa continue to provide sanctuary to rescued chimpanzees like me by making a year-end donation today.
