People all over the world are beginning to question why chemically intensive agribusiness and factory farming, which are responsible for 30 to 50 percent of global warming, were somehow not an important enough issue for our leaders to discuss at the recent climate conference in Paris.

It comes as no surprise that our governments utterly fail and ignore our environment, as well as suffering animals and unhealthy humans when it comes to agribusiness dollars exerting political power. So why do we continue to look to our unresponsive political leaders to acknowledge or look for solutions to these important issues?

Clearly it is up to us now, which is why thousands among the 600,000 demonstrators from all over the world this year were seen promoting an important and powerful solution – adopting a plant based diet. Going vegan is a hugely effective action each of us can take right now (without waiting for the agribusiness conflicted “big guys”) in order to reduce one of the largest factors contributing to too much greenhouse gas, plus air and water pollution, land degradation, deforestation, biodiversity decline, and ocean degradation.

It also explains why the world’s leaders and leading environmental organizations are too afraid to talk about it.
