Late last year, we shared with you a very sensitive and powerful quote from Pope Francis. It seemed right, and very appropriate that we follow it up with the following quote which supports our Guardian Campaign by Lisa Levinson. Lisa is Director of IDA’s Sustainable Activism Campaign, as well as the organizer of our Vegan Spirituality Groups and Retreats. Lisa beautifully captures the spirit of love, compassion, and caring that is at the core of our Guardian Campaign, whether it be it toward our animal companions or to all our fellow beings.

It is way past time that we traded in the outdated and exploitative concept of animal ‘ownership’ in favor of the more responsible and caring concept of animal guardianship.
