The so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” is awful — but it has already passed the House. Now, with your help, your U.S. Senator can kill this deadly bill — before it kills millions of animals and ravages the environment.

It's being sold to the public as a “pro-growth” plan to 'streamline development' – which means bypassing and gutting environmental protections, to make more companies more money by devastating environmental regulations, so entire animal populations, and the ecosystems that sustain them — and us too — including mining and oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge!

If passed, this “Truly Awful Bill” would allow government agencies to ignore court rulings, fast-track destructive projects, and gut landmark environmental laws, including rounding up and killing wild horses and burros, harming endangered species, old-growth forests, and polluting clean water nationwide — all under the pretext of “emergency” declarations that block judicial review!

We the people would lose our longstanding right to challenge these massive environmental damages and cruel treatment of wild animals in the courts.

The bill in the Senate is a new version of failed earlier efforts. However, in May 2025, the House pushed this updated, environmentally destructive legislation through the reconciliation process. Now the Senate will vote on the bill, likely before the July 4th holiday. While we Americans celebrate the history and beauty of our magnificent, pristine American landscape, our national heritage, this bill would decimate it.

This bill also sets a terrifying precedent. It guts the system of checks and balances that protects the environment we all cherish and that sustains us. It would harm and inevitably kill countless thousands of wild animals we hold dear.

Subject: Reject the Awful Big Bad Senate Bill Which Guts Animal, Environmental & Legal Protections

As your constituent and one of over 250,000 In Defense of Animals supporters who deeply care not only about animals but also the law and the environment, I am deeply disturbed to learn that this bill passed the House in May and I implore you to do everything in your power to stop the misleadingly named “Big Beautiful Bill” now before the Senate.

We all know this bill is the polar opposite of beautiful. If passed, it would only make many destructive companies lots of money by bypassing and gutting critical environmental protections, and decimating animal populations that depend on the healthy ecosystems that sustain them, and all of us humans too!

If passed, this Big Bad Bill would allow government agencies to ignore court rulings, fast-track destructive projects, and gut landmark environmental laws like the National Environmental Policy Act, round up and kill wild horses and burros, and destroy endangered species, old-growth forests, and clean water nationwide — all under the pretext of “emergency” declarations that block judicial review!  

We, the people, would lose our long-time right to challenge these massive environmental damages. The result would be harm and suffering, and the deaths of countless wild animals.

This bill would also set a terrifying precedent, destroying the system of checks and balances that protects the environment created under previous administrations, both Democratic and Republican.

Please stop this awful bill!
