39 Days of Rescue - Ireland

I’m Ireland!

I’m pictured here with my friend Luna (she’s the white one). Luna and I have been together just about our entire lives. At a very young age we were rounded up and taken out of the natural wild lands we called home and separated from our parents. Adopted as wild young foals, we spent four years with some people who, when they found out we were both pregnant, then abandoned us to a scary feedlot in Nevada.

Kind people from In Defense of Animals heard of our situation and were able to rescue me, but because of limited resources, we had to leave Luna behind. I was devastated to think that Luna would be shipped to slaughter in Mexico or Canada (which is exactly where I was headed), but the woman who rescued me was not about to give up. She tracked down my friend Luna for me and made sure that we would never be separated again. Now we live together at a beautiful and spacious sanctuary with plenty of room to roam, which is just about the best place any mustang can end up. Please make a donation to In Defense of Animals today so that other mustangs like us have a chance at lifelong friendships.
